Help needed for my article - references
by LouBelle inhi everyone, as some of you know i'm writing an article about my life in the organisation and the journey out of it.
it's amazing how the words just flow and come so easy.. i've quoted from memory a couple of watchtowers or publications but as i got rid of my written research and all my literature a couple of years back, can't go back and check the actual dates/pages and such.

Madness in the pages of the very first Golden Age. The date? Oct 1, 1919
by cedars ini was doing some research in the very first issue of golden age (forerunner to awake!
), published october 1, 1919, and couldn't believe what madness was contained on some of its pages.. for example, i can't believe i missed this clipping when i was researching my article on racism in early watchtower literature a year ago..... .
segregation of black children is basically praised as "wise" and "probably an advantage to all concerned.

Great catch Cedars. Racial segregation has still existed in the org within the last 50 years, in parts of America at least. I know someone (black friend of mine) who went to an assembly, went to sit down somewhere and was told by an attendant.. 'your people are sitting over there', pointing to where they should sit!! (this was sometime within the last 50 years, probably 60's or 70's but I'm certainly not bringing it up again to get more details, so don't ask me to!)

Confused about Satan's plan according to WTS
by new22day inmy rudimentary understanding of jw beliefs is that satan is leading traditional christian religions and the wild beast of the un is his tool.
is the wts concept that the un will eventually ban all religion and this will start the big a?
wouldn't satan be working at cross purposes if 'he' is leading the false religions too??

by MrMonroe injim penton's book apocalypse delayed has an intriguing reference at pg.
323 to testimony jf rutherford gave in 1918 (though he may have erred there with regard to the date).. he wrote that the proclaimers book contained a number of "outright falsehoods that have become part of watch tower mythology.
it argues, as have many watch tower publications in the past, that the reason jf rutherford drove four watch tower society directors from office in july 1917 is that they opposed the publication of the book the finished mystery, which he had personally authorised.
